What is the best air-cleaner to buy that makes no noise.?

by on 2012/01/25

I need to buy an air-cleaner and I want a silent one. I do not want to spend a fortune, but I need one for smoke and cat hair. I had one years ago that made so much noise I threw it out. Do I need one for each room? Who makes the best one? Thanks

I have an Ionic Breeze. It only makes noise when it’s dirty. We only have one, but it seems to be enough. I have two dogs.

i don’t know what you would consider ‘a fortune’ but i caught a sale on those ‘sharper image ionic breeze’ air filters — buy two get one free. they are absolutely silent and two of them have a special gaget to change smog to oxygen and the third one has one of those special blue lights that zap airbourne bacteria.

The American Standard “Accu-Clean” air filtration system is without a doubt the best there is. It removes 99.98% of all airborne allergens from the home. It ties in with your heating and air system and does a much better job than any portable system on the market. It cleans all the air that passes through and get distributed into all rooms of the home. Worth every penny spent if you have allergies or asthma.
